About Pacific Cameras

Pacific Corporation was established in Osaka, Japan in 1978. The headquarters was moved to Tokyo in 1985 and in 1987 devised the world’s first CCD board camera. In 1992 the present headquarters building was completed. December 1996 saw the completion of a dedicated Research & Development (R&D) centre at Hakone, to ensure all board camera are designed and engineered using cutting edge technology and in 1999 the UK Office was established close to Reading, near London.

In December 1998, Pacific Corp received approval for EMC testing by AVI on the test labs, making the company one of the first in Japan capable of issuing full CE approval on its products including its unique range of board cameras. In February 1999, the new main production plant was completed in Kawasaki, Japan enabling production of up to 2,000 board cameras each working day and maintaining Pacific’s position as the largest producer of board cameras in Japan. Sales  in excess of 2.5 billion Japanese Yen, are achieved with the aid of a network of offices in New York, Los Angeles, Sao Paulo, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Milan, Brussels, London and Sydney.

As well as offering a range of finished products, Pacific is well known for quality board cameras and PCB cameras. Attention to detail is paramount, such as reduction of power consumption and heat dissipation, verified by three lines of quality control on the board camera production line. All colour cameras have PC based software camera settings selection. The philosophy of the company is to build to a specification with a price in mind, rather than to target sales based on price alone, and for this reason the customer base is made up largely of OEM users building high value finished items and distributors with a wide range of quality products.

Sales administration and support for all board cameras and related products can be offered locally in each country with the backup of detailled technical support by qualified engineers trained in the Japanese factories. In addition, special projects can be evaluated and realised with many OEM customers detailing their own customised products to application specifications.

At Pacific Corporation UK we can inform and advise you on solutions for your requirements, and there is no minimum order quantity. We also offer a full stock of sample products at discount prices for evaluation purposes.
